El Mirador De Los Condores, El Chalten

4.6
Earn an unforgettable view over the jagged Fitz Roy peaks at El Mirador De Los Condores. Embark on the one-hour, self-guided walk from El Chaltén, which leads you along a relatively easy path to a renowned viewpoint. From there, you'll be able to appreciate the distinctive peaks that attract outdoor enthusiasts from around the world. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection, as well as some cold weather gear to protect against the wind--the lack of shade on the path leaves you exposed to the elements. • Short trail that starts next to the visitor center, at the entrance of the city. We stopped there to pick up tips from the region and maps and we were guided on the difficulty that would be to depart for the most famous trekking on the day due to the terrible climatic conditions. In against departure we were instructed and try this trail and after that of the Chorrillo del Salto (I put specific evaluation there). We followed the team's nomination and went to the Mirador. The walk is quiet, 1.1 km, and takes about 20 min, if it is slow. Up there is quite a lot (in winter it reaches more than 50km/h depending on the day), so being warm is cool. If you get a very beautiful view of the city and the mountains of the region, including Fitz Roy. We went on a cloudy day and therefore it was not possible to see the mountains (in winter it is common time to stay like this for several days in a row). Even so it is a good ride to fit on the day when you have little time free, because it yields a good view of the valley and mountains, plus good photos.

  • On the last day of the trip we would have the morning free and this trail fell like a glove to close with gold Key the trip before returning to El Calafate and take the flight to Ushuaia.

  • Short, nice and easy walk, it took about 20 minutes to get up there. Went around 10 am, very few people.
  • Walking short and apt to go with children, view of the Fitz Roy.
