We were picked up by our hotel punctually with the schedule we had on the voucher. Then he took the mystical route number 40 from the Calafate, stopping by the museum of route 40 the lioness, historical place to see its history, take photos and the one who wanted could take a coffee. During the trip you can see the Fitz Roy hill or hill tower and the viedma glacier very nice landscape during the journey that lasts approx 3 hours. Before entering the mountain villa the Chaltén made a stop at a viewpoint to take photos and appreciate the beauty of nature that day there was quite wind in the area. We passed through the picturesque little village until we reached the restaurant Punto in common where we would meet at 18 hs all. We were delivered the food in organic paper bags, they contained a bottle of mineral water, Milanese sandwich and a very rich fruit all and very fresh! They explained the history of the place, and the self-guided trails we could do, we chose the 10 km saloon path to the lagoon where we made the stop for lunch in front of the viewpoint of the Fitz Roy hill. The climb to the lagoon is by a path that goes in a snail type marked with small signs the kms that go up, it is a quiet climb, if you bring water, Gatorade, cap, protector, light of clothes or onion type to go out in case it is hot. Beautiful day past and more because I party that day I turn 40 in the middle of nature. Highly recommended tour!! Greetings readerstrip!!
more »Phyzroy, in the words of the native language, is called Chalten, and it is said that it is a mountain of smoke (the mountain where smoke rises). It is said that it was named "Phyzroy" by the BAE to Moreno. El Chalten is a city where you can admire the mountains if the weather is good and you climb to higher ground in the mountains overlooking Fitzroy. There were a variety of hiking tools and tour companies like the city of mountain climbers.
My girlfriend rented walking shoes to go to fitzroy, everything seemed fine but after 2 hours she got her feet on fire and had to keep going with flip flops... and come back the whole way with flip flops.... the lady didn't want to hear anything, only saying the usual business thing in order that I pay full price. I couldn't have a discount. I was just looking for a human being to understand how painful it is to walk back from the fitzroy with flip flop but all I had was a business lady obsessed by money
Rented equipment for Huemul Circuit here. Everything in good condition. Besides harness and carabinas they give you a thin cord to retrieve pully, so you don't need to buy it in hardware store. They also give you a discount if pay in cash.
