Appreciate colorful early modernist 3D paintings and graphic artworks at Ervand Kochar Museum, a small museum in downtown Yerevan. The building houses a substantial collection of work detailing the life and opus of Ervand Kocher, a prominent Soviet Armenian avant-garde sculptor and a pioneer of 4D art thought. Known in the West as the founder of the Painting in Space movement in the 1930s, synthesizing painting, graphic art, and sculpture, he moved back to Armenia in 1936 to become one of the state's best-known artists. With works representing all of the cities in which the artist gained prominence--Tbilisi, Paris, and Yerevan--you can get a great overview of the his work and life. Take a guided tour to get the most out of the museum. Ervand Kochar Museum is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , online itinerary creator Edition.

  • Kochar was an outstanding and visionary artist who missed the international recognition he deserves when he left Paris and returned to Armenia in 1936. This museum is well worth the visit.

  • I wanted to visit this museum on a national holiday. It said on their site "Open every day." I went there and knocked and they were clearly closed. Then I called and they opened the museum a bit...

  • A must see for every art lover,,, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere.
  • A revelation of work of an artist little know in western art. This little museum and the tour was one of the best museums I've visited. And I've visited 100s around the world. I travelled to Armenia as a tourist but I'm not Armenian. I wish I could go back.
