Woolmers Estate, Longford

Built in 1817 and owned by the same family until the 1990s, Woolmers Estate is a World Heritage-listed homestead furnished with period furniture. The complex includes a number of farm buildings and a rose garden. The estate's shearing shed remains the country's oldest still in use.   • There is not a lot of this sort of thing around and I enjoyed the stories about the family very much. It is not grand by UK styles of the times but very much for the Australian history.  more »
