  • The St. Columba waterfall can be reached via a 12 km long, continuously asphalted side road. We were there late at night just before sunset and were the only visitors. The 10-minute journey to the foot of the waterfall leads downhill through the Tasmanian jungle, but is also easy to walk on the way back. St Columba Falls, with a height of 90 metres, is considered the highest waterfall in Tasmania. However, the water does not fall directly 90 meters into the depth, but flows down a slope. Nevertheless, it is an imposing sight. The amount of water varies between a few thousand and 220,000 liters depending on the season. Conclusion: A great waterfall, which is definitely worth a detour.

  • This is a beautiful place and the foot path to the fall is well maintained making it easy to access. Well worth the shortish walk down and even the little up hill climb back.  more »
