Gordon River Cruises, Strahan

Great experience for the all family. Comfortable cruise and ecologically conscious when we switched to electric mode up the Gordon river. I particularly enjoyed the in depth and interesting explanations regarding the local flora, fauna and history. The food provided was also tasty and plentiful. I highly recommend it.

I booked the trip a few months ahead for a premium upper deck seat. It was by no means cheap ticket as I the price could easily get you a premium hotel stay for a night. It was an understatement to say that I was having an extremely high expectation before coming on board. After spending 6 hours on this amazing cruise trip, I dare to say that this was the best highlight of my holiday in Tasmania and definitely the best cruise I have ever taken. The ship was modern, almost brand new, comfortable, beautifully designed with great viewing windows from the seats and plenty of open spaces on the ship for photo taking. The food served on the ship during the 6 hour trip was amazing, our stomaches were well taken care of. The staff were very friendly and really helpful. In particular, the guide and commentary video were well prepared and knowledgeable. What really sets this cruise apart from all the rest was a really beautiful landscape, in depth historical perspectives and great stories told in a fascinating way. I really felt that I am acquainted to this land and its history after mere 6 hours of this cruise, while enjoying the serenity of this natural beauty. I highly recommend this cruise and it was totally worth the 4 hour drive from Hobart! Remember to book the cruise in advance!
