Intricate in design and architecture, St. Stephen's Cathedral is a cultural icon and symbol of Austrian identity. With a multicolored tile roof and tall Romanesque towers, it has become one of the most recognizable images of the city. Consecrated in 1147, the cathedral stands on the remains of former versions, which were destroyed by fire, siege, and World War II.     Impressive Gothic-era cathedral with distinctive high tower. Many period features. A lot of visitors, but no real crowds. You can find some quiet places to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. The cathedral is set in the middle of charismatic Stephansplatz. The best possible combination.

    The must-see spot of Vienna. A majestic temple and a spacious area full of shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. Some of the best hotels of Vienna are to be found in the area. So many people pass by and it is amazing how clean this place stays! You have to go inside the cathedral and admire its interior. If you consider yourself brave enough, you can climb up the around 400 stairs and you will get to one of the towers. The view of the city is breathtaking!
