Blue Lagoon, Ayia Napa

4.7
#2 of 8 in Nature in Famagusta District
Named in 2012 as one of National Geographic's “25 Wonders of the World," Blue Lagoon has evolved from its infancy as a reservoir of geothermal runoff into a world of geothermal wonder.

The unique properties of its waters provide not only an enchanting lagoon experience, but also the patented, active ingredients in Blue Lagoon skin care: silica, algae, and minerals.

Blue Lagoon is located in a sprawling, 800 year old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula – a UNESCO Geopark. Just 20 minutes from Keflavík International Airport and 50 minutes from Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon is simultaneously remote and easily accessible.

  • One of the first places I visited Cyprus, left highly impressed. Access was difficult, but it's worth it!

  • Very recommend to visit and enjoy the colors of the sea. Very convenient for buggy/square. Drove up, parked and just go. You can make an excellent trip, choosing other beautiful places nearby.

  • Took sea excursion "Afrodita 2" was 2 stops for an hour, swam in the Blue Lagoon, the water is excellent, the fish looked, saw exactly 8 species, it is not the Red Sea, but still interesting))

  • Fantastic place with idyllic views. A tourists' favourite. One can swim, dive and explore the rocks. Small boats scattered here and there. Plenty of parking space since it is easily accessible by car. There are vendors' vans selling water, ice cream, coffees and sandwiches though they come at a price. Best off if you buy some things from the town's supermarket and carry them with you.
  • Amazing place!!! The water is so clear that you can see everything on seabed even on 10m depth. It is not surprising that color of the water is blue, the name of the lagoon speaks for itself. But have to visit this place to feel and understand how cool is it, you cannot get it just from pictures. There are a lot of yachts drive here, but you can get there by public transport. The Blue Lagoon is located only 1.5km away from bus stop.
  • Had a boat trip to Blue lagoon.... Value for money 10 adult's an 5euro kids. 2.5 hrs long Stopping at Blue lagoon for 20mins where we could jump in either from diving board on top deck or one on lower level or for wimps just step in of back of boat. Most awesome.... An and best 10 euros I've ever spent 👌👍😎
  • For me it was the most interesting place in cape grego, even the path (walking or driving) seems more attractive. Very peaceful and beautiful, you can go down to the water.
  • Breathtaking view. There are few benches where you can sit and rest. Swimming is impossible because of rocks (I did not find a way to enter the water) but being there is great enough. Worth seeing
