Cape Greco, also known as Cavo Greco and Poyraz Burnu in Turkish, is a headland in the southeastern part of the island of Cyprus. It is at the southern end of Famagusta Bay and forms part of Ayia Napa Municipality.
It lies between the towns of Ayia Napa and Protaras, both of which are tourist resorts. It is visited by tourists for its natural environment, and is a protected nature park.
According to local legend, it is also the home of the 'Ayia Napa sea monster'.
Cape Greco is a National Forest Park is under the administration of the Forestry Department of the Cyprus Ministry of the Interior.
At Cape Greco, there is a large mediumwave broadcasting station used by TWR. It has several mast radiators and broadcasts on 1233 kHz with 600 kW.

  • Beautiful, Untouched Nature. There is not much more to say - on one side of the Cape are ice blue tranquil waters and the other crashing waves against the rocks. There are also plenty of caves to...  more »
  • Worth visiting Cape Greco, wonderful coastline but beware of terrible insect bites. We did a sunset stroll & were very badly bitten, use repellent before you venture out.  more »

  • Went there in the evening, unfortunately it got dark real fast. So didn't get a chance to swim in the famous lagoon(( the place is really beautiful, it's so serene out there and the air is so good. If you like the nature, walks and fantastic sea views, it's a must when visiting Cyprus!
  • The water there was amazing. Really clear and really good for snorkeling or diving. You can see crabs hiding beneath the rocks and big groups of fish a little bit deeper (about 15m from the place you jump in the water).
