Agioi Saranta Cave Church, Famagusta

Blissfully peaceful & serene. Felt the centuries of worship soaked into the cave walls. Just lovely. Will visit again before we go home, very moving.

Fantastic little church down a long gravel road. It is built into the side of the hill and is tucked away. This is away from main tourist attractions and when we arrived we were the only ones here. Please respect the Church and those who use it even if you are not religious... clearly a well loved placed and still used to this day. There are no toilets here nor refreshment stops. Rent a quad to get here as the roads are uneven and difficult and 4/5km down gravel/dirt roads. Will take 10-15 mins from main road.
