Kyrenia Harbour, Kyrenia

#1 of 28 in Nature in Cyprus
With a recognizably carefree Mediterranean feel, Kyrenia Harbour makes you feel at home among its stone buildings and charming boats tied at the docks. Overlooking the 16th-century Venetian castle on one side and showcasing the dramatic Besparmak Mountains on the other, the harbor provides a surprising break from the hot and dusty capital city and its surroundings. Check out an array of specialty shops, cafes, and bistros, and look for clothes and spices at colorful Middle Eastern-styled markets. Stroll the cobbled streets and take in the views, or stop for a cup of hot Turkish coffee. • WHILE VACATIONING or LIVING in NORTH CYPRUS will definitely take time and walk through the old Kirenijskoj fortress and the ancient port. Many interesting alleys and ancient buildings located near the port, is the former home of merchants and old warehouses, churches and shopping malls. The fortress itself is a miracle, you get a small courtyard and a total immersion in the middle ages. telling hard-feel better. here and smells and visuals and ancient walls-all evokes a feeling of eternity. nice look at the fortress and sea-thus saw her arriving pilgrims to the Holy Land and one hundred years and five hundred years ago

  • Bustling little harbour. Key destination alongside the castle for a visit to Kyrenia. Variety of eating establishments but probably better options a little further back from the harbour.  more »
  • Attentive nice located, charming countryside. Front the sea, back the fortress, da hiss life and activities on boats and in restaurants.

  • This is the place where you want to spend a day. Roam around in this friendly harbour. Take the restaurant of your choise. Great fish and seafood restaurants. Go to all the small shops nearby for clothes, shoes and more. also plan a walk to the castle.
  • This is one of the nicest places in Cyprus. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Nicosia, and it's challenging to find a parking spot. A must see is the Kyrenia castle with all museums located inside and having a drink or a lunch after in the harbour. Service in most of the harbour restaurants need improvement as the staff is not local and needs some training. Prices are similar to the rest of Cyprus.
  • Nice and relaxing harbour with many inexpensive eateries next to beautiful blue sea. Good place to go after the visit to the castle nearby. Some boat trips stalls along the street. Watch beautiful sunset here too.
  • Beautiful harbour, lots of cafe, bars, restaurant s, open air and indoors. Very reasonable prices, and I have always found to be good food. Effes is the local beer and is tasty and refreshing. Most places have free wifi. Decent choice of boat trips for a special day out.
  • The harbour is picturesque and is filled with restaurants in the heart of the bay. Lovely place to stay and eat.
