At the edge of Paphos Seafront walkway, the robust, cube-shaped Paphos Harbour Castle served the Byzantine Empire, the Lusignans, the Ottomans, the Greeks, and the English. The medieval castle was rebuilt twice--once after an earthquake in 1222 and again at the end of the 16th century. It also served as a storage area for salt. Enter the castle by crossing an old bridge over a small pond, and then climb the stairs inside to reach the top. From here you'll get some of the best views of the seafront and the Mediterranean Sea. • Paphos Castle is TINY. It's more of a Fort than a castle and you can tour the whole place in 10 minutes. But you won't! Because once you reach the top the views are breathtaking. You'll want to spend a good while taking it all in. On two sides the castle overlooks Paphos Harbour while on the others it's the sea. The entrance fee is only €2.50 per person and children go free. Bear in mind it is not wheelchair or pushchair friendly and there are some very steep and narrow stairs to climb.
  • Beautiful castle to see, definitely worth going to! The castle has been renovated and protected beautifully, with lighting making the features stand out. The upper level is lovely to have a higher view of Pathos from. Would recommend to all!
