Münzenberg Castle (German. Burg Münzenberg) is a ruined hill castle in the town of the same name in the Wetteraukreis, Hesse, Germany. It dates from the 12th century. It is one of the best preserved castles from the High Middle Ages in Germany.

  • When I was living in Germany we often visited many of the ruins. These ruins were great as you could really walk around and explore. My children were small then and loved running around. However...  more »
  • Nice castle that is observed from local distances and nice to see up close. There are some goats at the castle grazing. Nice easy walk to look around.  more »

  • A very nice Place to look over the Wetterau. Toilet at the Entrance House available. One of the two Towers is walkable and offers excellent Views (no Lift). For People with a Rollator or Wheelchair, however, the uneven patch and the sometimes strong Climbs are an Obstacle, so you should assess your Condition and Abilities correctly.
