Come and take a walk around the sacred Kinomiya Shrine, a Shinto shrine nestled in an area of dense woodland. Dedicated to the Shinto god of fortune and luck, the shrine centers around a large camphor tree, believed to be more than 2000 years old. Pilgrims believe that one walk around the tree's 24 m (78 ft) round trunk will extend their life by one year, as well as aiding recovery from sickness. Pass around the sacred tree, and admire its natural majesty, which has inspired so many stories and positive beliefs.
