Amazing Gardens and Grounds! The imperial place and its gardens and grounds in the inner palace area are stunning and well worth a visit. I went for a run around the area and while it was hilly, it was worth it. The remains of its castle tower and other ancient structures that once stood towering over Japan reflected a little bit of history of the place. On a lighter note, there was also good food and drinks within walking distance from this attraction.
I came to Japan on a business trip and had a few hours to spend before going to the airport for my flight home. I have heard about the gardens from some co-workers and decided that a little server-side would be gigs before my 24 hours of travel to get home. The gardens were well kept and the stone walls and gates were impressive. I wish it was closer to spring/summer because all of the trees were barren and I imagine it would be beautiful at some point this year, just not early February. So if you are planning a trip to Japan just to see the Royal gardens, wait until spring. If you are here looking for something to go see, it is worth the effort but knife what you're in for depending on the time of year. I really liked the reflection pond.
