  • Beautiful temple just next to the Itsukushima Shrine and well worth a visit. It has a beautiful authenticity and old world charm. Lovely wooden statue of a old man who looks a like a philosopher to...  more »
  • Up to 1868 this temple was in charge of the upkeep and restoration of the Itsukushima shrine. Well worth visiting to get the history.  more »
  • Essential visit if you come to the island. Would be better when the tide is in but oh well.
  • A rather unassuming temple (especially seeing as it's placed right next door to one of the most incredible shrines). There's a monk who chants and beats a drum at certain times in the day, which is rather nice to listen to.
