Let a ninja guide you around Iga-ryu Ninja Museum to discover the secrets of this seemingly traditional, unsuspecting thatched farmhouse. A kuno (female ninja) will lead you through the museum, revealing a house laden with boobie traps, occluded hiding places, and secret passages. Across the various rooms you'll learn about ninja strategies and writings, observe the Iga ninjas' methods as they infiltrate castles, and inspect over 400 ninja artifacts, including a genuine shuriken (throwing star) used in the era of these mystifying assassins. Watch live reenactments and weapons demonstrations by trained professionals, and check out the ninja shop before you leave--a treasure trove of goods you won't find anywhere else. Iga-ryu Ninja Museum Reviews
Nice explanation of ninja culture. The tour of the typical ninja dwelling was very well done. The museum on the lower level was very informative along with the ninja residence building. I did not... more »

If you like ninja at all this is definitely worth the visit. Iga isn't the easiest place to get to but as it's the birthplace of the ninja legend it was kind of a must see for me. This is basically 3 attractions, the ninja House, two ninja museum locations and a ninja show. I would say that it is only worth making the journey for the days the ninja show is on so check beforehand. The ninja house is thoroughly interesting, it demonstrates some of the cunning used in their stealth. The ninja museum exhibits are interesting and there's some actual artifacts from the sengoku era but some of it isn't in English so I missed what they were referring to. The ninja show is awesome. It's an extra 400 yen but that's barely anything and the show is really exciting.
Had a great time visiting the museum, adult ticket cost ¥756, the tour is in English, Chinese, and Japanese, very interesting tour because they would show you the hidden secrets of a ninja house. To avoid disappointment, please check on the date and timing for the ninja show (additional ¥400) as they are not available everyday. Suggest to get the tourist Kintetsu 5-day ticket pass as they are the only train operator accessing to this area.
