  • Everything is in Japanese but you can get the jist of the experiments. 4 floors of things to do. Good few hours on a wet or too hot day.  more »

  • Osaka Science Museum is a multi-floor building with many interesting anf interactive exhibits on each floor, focused on astronomy and physical/chemical sciences with some information in English for most exhibits. There's a kids floor for the younger kids with lots of cool activities they can engage with. The museum also has a gift shop, and a planetarium show which I didn't have time to see. Overall, a good educational and engaging experience I can recommend.
  • Admission to the science part was included in the Osaka Amazing Pass and so we decided to check it out. It is hard to rate because there are lots of factors. The first floor (which is actually the 4th floor) was about space and motion and had a lot of hands on things as well as English signage. It was interesting and fun and as a 30 something adult with no children I spent 45 minutes here. The next 2 floors are interesting to look at but there is no English explaining anything. The last floor has a lot of hands on things again and there were some fun activities to challenge yourself with. So as an adult English speaker this is a 3 star. If I was really into rocks or motion or science maybe a 4. If I was an English speaking parent who wanted a contained place to let my elementary school or younger aged kids to run around in air conditioning for a couple hours it would be an absolute 5 star. Many school aged kids were there having a blast. Planetarium was extra, only in Japanese and wasn't worth it unless you are hot, tired want to recline in a comfy chair for 45 minutes. (That part was nice)
