Also beautiful is the monument of the classmates, for the girl who died of leukemia, although she has finished the 1000 origamis that according to legend should help to health.
The park itself is mainly a green space between the A-bomb Dome (原爆ドーム) and the cenotaph and museum, but you can also locate the Children's Memorial, the Peace Bell, and the Memorial Mound. On a nice day the area is likely to be full of families with children happily enjoying the pleasant environment. That may seem incongruous for a place that memorializes the destruction caused by an atomic bomb, but when you think of it, maybe that's the best possible use of the space.
I absolutely loved this place. It was great to be able to see all the history but also sad at the same time. It is good to reflect on ones past so that the same mistakes are not made in the future. There is a lot of stuff you can learn here that you probably were not taught in school. Overall, highly recommended to come here and at least learn a bit about history.
