Shimoda Park Reviews
It was on a hill near Perry Road. We hoped to see something interesting or get a chance for kids to play. There were some memorial objects and a square. However, we did not see anything special. They ... more »

There were then trails blocked by fallen trees and no one around. MAGNIFICO I spent 4 hours, more or less, walking and stopping at every vantage point. Really recommended. Unique flaws: the hideous aquarium that spoils the landscape with those poor dolphins forced into two square meters watching begging them to put an end to their suffering and the castle scuffle that should be in ruins inside the park but that is actually it same the park from what I understood through my Japanese macaroni. Or maybe it's the dolphins inside the castle that in my thoughts to the opposite vaaaaaaaaaa. Ah well, there's also a section dedicated to "U.S.-Japan amtile." I sincerely would never be friends with those who first helped me to open myself up to the world by pointing cannons at me and then bring me peace by dropping two nuclear bombs on me. This is a nice little park providing views of Shimoda and the surrounding sea. The park can be gradient at times, but has well maintained pathways.
This place has a eerie atmosphere. The last bus from Shimoda Eki departs at around 5PM, i missed this so had to walk all the way. It is around 2km away from the station. I didn't find even a single soul at this location, don't know why. The park is very quiet, has a few statues in it.
