#2 of 43 in Things to do in Teshikaga-cho
Mountain · Nature / Park
Witness the natural spectacle of sulfur vents at Mt. Io, an active volcano releasing sulfuric gases that often cause the surrounding landscape to turn yellow. A short 2.5 km (1.55 mi) scenic walk from the nearby town or from the onsite parking lot brings you right to the steaming vents and the rocky, barren landscape. The parking lot's fee includes access to the Lake Mashu caldera viewpoint. Find out how to plan Teshikaga-cho trip without stress by asking Inspirock to help create an itinerary.
