  • I'm sure we would have enjoyed this experience - had we got in. Our visit was during the declared state of emergency, so proof of vaccination was needed. The Latvian app doesn't recognise the NHS QR.....  more »
  • Amazing building. Excellent, classy cafe for a meal or snack. I loved seeing the 1917-1940 Latvian works, they could hold their own anywhere. There was also a floor dedicated to contemporary art, and a special exhibit of conceptual art ....which I probably needed more time to ponder. Take time to walk down the stairs to the lowest level and see the visible paintings storage area on the way.
  • One of the best museums to visit if you are a tourist in Riga and are interested in art. Usuallyhas 1 changing exhibition and 1 static exhibition with the most important Latvian painter works from different times. Also has some augmented reality stuff and audio guides for free through their app. It Has huge student discounts up to 50% of the regular price. On the most upper floor there is a nice view over the city.
