  • Great place to visit and to spend a couple of hours. I really enjoyed the exhibition and I learned a lot about the Latvian history. Unfortunately only about half of the documents/text have been translated into English. For that reason I can give only 4 stars, but I recommend this museum anyway.
  • Amazing, free, 5 level museum that gives you a fantastic history of Latvia with tons of artifacts as well. Sadly if you only speak English some things are only in Latvian or Russian and you miss out on the full info experience. The staff were super friendly however and they tried to translate for me the best they could if I had a pressing question. They do offer tours in English (€10) when they can but sadly I couldnt attend as they didn't have one in English that day. There is also a cool little gift shop at the bottom of the stairs that all proceeds go to the museum and it's up keep. And if you like museums I absolutely suggest the KGB museum, it is a phenomenal must see!
