Wadi Bani Khalid, Muscat

#2 of 38 in Wildlife in Muscat
Nature / Park · Wildlife Area
Dip in an emerald green pool amidst limestone cliffs fringed with vegetation at Wadi Bani Khalid, a striking landscape cut into the Al Hajar mountains. Admire waterfalls pouring over boulders, explore caves with strange light, and snap photos of the green and red rocks--the result of copper oxide and iron ore. A scenic hike will take you to natural springs, through plantations and villages. A traditional Omani village en route has all the basic tourist facilities. • Astonishing place! Best place to camp, have a night out and spend your weekends. That cave that needs 2kms of walk was of no much significance. The wadi that begins it's trail near the cave is so beautiful, diving into it is so relieving.
