  • Worth visiting if you are in Lima... Enjoyed the grounds and funny to see all the birds flying around in the square  more »
  • In Lima, Peru at the abbey of S. Francisco in the ancient center of Lima, Peru can be seen by the print of the Muslim artists who came from Spain with the Spanish conquistadors to the new World in the sixteenth century. These artists, apparently Morikos (Muslims who apologized), are partners in building architectural projects in Lima. The amazing wooden ceiling in the Franciscan convent (mid-sixteenth century) resembles a dome in King Pedro I's Palace in Seville (mid-fourteenth century), many walls and pillars in a tile-coated monastery from Seville. And the connection to Andalusia is very clear. Pay at least three hours to visit.

  • This is an amazing place to visit. NOT suitable for handicap people. One of the oldest churches and convent since Spanish Colonial times. The gold covered altars, the paintings and the tour to the catacombs make this an interesting place to visit. The entry ticket was very reasonable. You need to go in a tour.Too many steps for people with troubled knees. No availability for wheel chairs. It is better to go on weekends.
  • Very neat place if you are in to history. Alot of great architecture and art work. The catacombs were really cool to see. Worth a visit of you have a few days in Lima.
