Nami Island, Chuncheon

#1 of 238 in Things to do in Gangwon-do
Must see · Island · Nature / Park
Set in the middle of Bukhangang River only 63 km (39 mi) from Seoul, Nami Island provides a popular escape from city life for many locals, especially after the filming of a famous Korean drama. Stroll along the famous path lined with tall metasequoias and enjoy numerous sculptures representing love. Rent an electric bike to explore the supposed gravesite of a 15th-century general, or take a golf cart tour to enjoy the natural surroundings of countless chestnut, poplar, and mulberry trees. Cool off with a motorboat or waterski rental, or jump into the swimming pool. Use our Chuncheon day trip app to arrange your visit to Nami Island and other attractions in Chuncheon.

  • Very beautiful place, a must-visit tourist attraction in Korea. Have to take a five minute ferry ride over here, should prepare the travel beforehand to avoid the crowd waiting for the ferry. Food stalls on the island offer pretty amazing food, should definitely try them out - but I didn't try out the restaurants. Plenty of spots to take amazing photos, should plan a two to three hour visit (including ferry ride). Suitable for both family or couples. Simply amazing experience overall.
  • The place definitely is beautiful. Many cafes available (obviously equipped with air conditioning which is oh so necessary believe me), although super crowded. I would definitely not recommended going there in summer though, it's so incredibly humid and the scenery surely isn't the best in those conditions. Spring or autumn would certainly be better.
