  • This museum has two towers. The first tower displays ancient Korean relics like vases, old paintings and Buddha statues. The second tower, is alright. It houses modern, contemporary, pop artworks and paintings. Not a lot though. Please take note, you cannot take any pictures. I didn’t see any sign saying “no picture allowed” but has been stopped several times by the staff of the museum. The main highlight of this museum is the rotunda (located at tower one). It is designed by an Italian - Swiss architect. The second highlight is the exterior garden. It houses art piece by Anil Kapoor titled big tree and the eye. If you just want to see the exterior garden , you don’t have to pay. Just go and take some pic.
  • Makes Guantanamo Bay seem more like Disneyland. I didn’t think it was possible for a museum to so vehemently and actively discourage visitors from appreciating the exhibitions. Banning cameras is somewhat understandable, but shouting at me for taking a photo out of the window using my phone (about 30 seconds after being told by another member of staff that phone cameras were absolutely fine) is a bit much. You can’t even walk around the exhibitions at your own leisure. As possibly the most overly staffed museum in Korea, a guard would force us to walk in particular directions every five paces. It wasn’t even just us, a friendly Korean man almost felt the full force of Leeum’s security team when he gently nudged the rope in front of a painting. The artwork is perfectly nice - but totally not worth the aggro. 1/10
  • Great museum to spend a couple hours. The main draw will be gallery 2 and all of the modern art that is intriguing and impressive. Gallery 1 is mostly pottery and other Korean artifacts. Audio guide descriptions are poor, so there isn’t great context for the gallery. The central stairway is very impressive and a great gram spot.
  • It's a good place to see a legitimate collection. Also a good place visit regularly every year.
  • Really interesting and beautifully made private gallery of art. Wortg visiting even if you are not really into art - most if exhibition is focused on 12th century Korean ceramics and other objects found from that time.
