One of Korea's leading art establishments, Leeum Samsung Museum of Art boasts an expansive collection of both contemporary and traditional artworks. Opened in 2004, the museum features two key areas spread across three modern buildings. Immerse yourself in traditional Korean masterpieces in Museum 1, where four floors house paintings, ceramics, Buddhist art, and numerous other items marking the progression of the country's cultural legacy. Museum 2 exhibits international artists like Damien Hirst and Andy Warhol. Lockers are available on site, as well as a European-style cafe. The outdoor sculpture park offers a quiet place to relax. • Fantastic art but be wary of trying to take pictures of even the names of the art pieces. I tried to take the name of the Dark Side of the Moon exhibit and was immediately told I would be removed if I did so. While I understand the concern, I take pictures of plaques to keep track of pieces that I liked for future reference. Otherwise, they have an amazing collection of art that rivals other collections around the world.
  • Really cool place. The treasures handpicked by their curators are much more valuable than majority of the public museums in Korea in my opinion. They have a strict policy of no photo taking. That said, they have a gift shop that sells a range of replicas from their originals.
