  • It's such a an awesome high tec museum with a great representation of Korean relics. Has a separate floor for the contemporary art. The building itself is a piece of beautiful architecture. Definitely recommend checking it out.
  • I enjoyed visiting this museum. They have an array of exhibits - ranging from Traditional Korean paintings and sculpture to modern found items art. Lovely little trip to take for a date or with friends. There is also a coffee shop where you can sit and unwind after or between exhibitions
  • This museum has quite a good collection of Corea celadon. It also has many great pieces of contemporary art.
  • I would recommend it if you are looking for a drastic difference of a traditional and modern section. The traditional is filled with old artifacts. The modern is filled with recent paintings and structures. They have a headset with information for each piece available. However, I found the headset insensitive to your location, and pretty abstract. It would have been better if it had more of the history behind the pieces instead of an abstract description. But the atmosphere was good, and you can even take a break between sections and head over to their cafe.
  • Modern and interesting museum. This one is not free, but definitely worth visiting. It is also relatively less crowded than other museums. Once you have bought your ticket, you are able to visit actually two sections. The museum is in the area Itaewon

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
