  • A diversified market. From clothing, bags, stationery, accessories, shoes, cameras to hiking gear. They have it. They also have restaurants and cafes that serve very good Korean food.  more »
  • Namdaemun market is leaving the subway, station exit 5. It is lined with stores in Paris, went to Seoul gratuity. Shopping there meal, surprisingly and optician. It is also one of the best price. I would ask if you know where the ushers wore red uniforms in the market, so, what you want to hear.

  • A pretty traditional market, lots of vendors that sometimes sell the same thing for different prices so take a walk around the place first. Lots of yummy street food. A good place to get gifts and little trinkets from. Easy to get to from the train station.
  • We went to the vintage clothing store upstairs. They are aggressive/charming salesmen. If they catch you remotely looking at an article of clothing they will try to sell that item to you, and they try to sell it hard! The sales women are muuuuuch less aggressive in sale tactics, so you can actually feel a bit more comfortable. Not for the inexperienced haggler. Bargain you must!
  • A busy shopping area with a lot of shops to get through. Take advantage of th guides located in the middle of the market who can help you find a particular shop. There are also night markets on which run from 12-4am!!! Only running on Saturdays and only the fashion area is open. Bring cash as most stalls are cash only. Please be aware the market is very quiet some sundays as stalls are closed. So best to visit another day.
  • On weekend, there are lots of kiosk open in the middle of the street. So, there are a lot more choices. Always do your survey first before buying because some of the stores sells double than what other stores are selling. I would prefer to buy souvenir at a store nearby gate 1. That is the cheapest I can get compare to the store just a couple blocks away.
  • Love this market lively and competitive. Don't expect to bargain as mist vendors prefer not to sell if you want to deal. There are better bargains in other cities but fun time.
