#6 of 53 in Parks in Taipei
A place of a great historical and ecological value, The Botanical Garden ensures a calm, educational, and relaxing day out amid nature. Ever since the beginning of the 20th century, the garden has served as a scientific center and a place for academic research. Some time later, during World War II, it was severely damaged, but was quickly restored to its former glory. Today, it serves as a beloved walking route for families and couples, offering the chance to admire over 1,500 different plant species distributed across 17 sections, featuring nine ponds throughout. • I thought these gardens were lovely. It is so nice so have a beautiful green area in the city. Lots of walking paths. The best part was the birds. Wonderful place to walk and check out the birds. No a...  more »
  • There will never be a 膩, reflecting the characteristics of the Taiwan vegetation, special plant species and detailed introduction and newly restored buildings, suitable for each age and overseas visitors; the traffic is convenient.

  • A bit of a pity, a lot of species, area is also very clear, there are historical buildings in the inside, but a lot of care is not very good! There are a lot of places named in Taiwan that don't show up! Many meat plants and greenhouses have a lot of plants wither, the greenhouse is also very old, it seems that no one is taking care of!

  • A beautiful scenic park filled with few hundred kinds of trees and plants in hearts of Taipei. Each theme section has a introduction board of the tree and plant displayed. You can found many wildlife in the lotus pond area. Lots seating available. Great to bring family and kids to spend a half day here as admission is free. Remember to bring bug repellent as there are many mosquito when night falls. 美麗古老的植物園, 有上百種樹和植物. 園區分成許多主題區有詳細的介紹. 假日全家出遊好地方, 免費門票. 一定要帶防蚊用品, 傍晚時會有很多蚊子出動.
  • I did not expect to have this small botanical garden in the city of Taipei. It is very well maintained, clean and surprisingly crowded. There is big pond here, supposedly a lotus pond. However, when I visited the garden, a very few lotus were there in the pond. Probably, it was not the perfect timming to see hundreds and hudreds of lotus in the pond. There are many bird-watchers shooting pictures of birds in the pond.
  • I feel like going on a somewhat sunny day in December was great, we had lots of quiet places to sit and relax.
  • It's a historical and educational botanical garden in Taipei. BTW, free admission year-round.
  • A quiet and scenic place filled with plants and trees endemic to Taiwan and a handful of countries. The pond was particularly scenic, with plenty of colorful East Indian lotuses in full bloom. Check the flower calendar on the Botanical Garden’s website for the current list of flowers in bloom. Admission is free.
