Architecture lovers and politics buffs will enjoy seeing Presidential Office Building--the tallest structure in Taiwan at the time of its construction. Completed in 1919, the building initially acted as the seat of the colonial government. After damage sustained in World War II bombings, Chen Yi restored the edifice to its former glory and it later became the presidential office in 1950. Though the structure faces east, giving it excellent views of Shishou Mountain, visitors can only view it from outside. Stop by to admire the historic building and snap a few photos.
