The Botanical Garden, Zhongzheng District

4.1
#7 of 93 in Parks in Taipei
A place of a great historical and ecological value, The Botanical Garden ensures a calm, educational, and relaxing day out amid nature. Ever since the beginning of the 20th century, the garden has served as a scientific center and a place for academic research. Some time later, during World War II, it was severely damaged, but was quickly restored to its former glory. Today, it serves as a beloved walking route for families and couples, offering the chance to admire over 1,500 different plant species distributed across 17 sections, featuring nine ponds throughout. • I stopped by to tackle the xiaonanmen station from the national history museum. Mid of may say problem may not bloom flower is almost did. I tried peeking out of outside of the greenhouse, but pots of carnivorous plant relationships that it is. People may begin with a botanical garden Arboretum Centre, are interested in the trees might be fun. I think there is because there is a big pond of lotus flowers bloom with flowers.

  • Basically, it is rather a small public park in which 15 minutes walk, to make short break from the city. More is not there. Neither exotic nor thriving, still not even particularly cared. Botanical gardens around the world look different.

  • Not quite the right season for great blooms, but spent an hour wandering around out of the heat. Wouldn't make a special trip unless the lillies were out.  more »

  • This is a large well maintained garden. It is free to get In and tough can walk around as long as you like. They do have public restrooms that are clean. There are many different paths to take that will lead you around the large area,. You could spend hours in here easily.
  • A great escape from the hustle and bustle of Taipei! Has lots of different types of plants from all over, and fairly well maintained (some areas may be a little neglected). Lots of lovely small paths and everything is labeled well. Recommended for afternoon strolls!
  • I go there almost once every month. In addition to appreciate its natural beauty, I also enjoy visiting National History Musrum. The Taipei Botanical Garden has various trees and flowers. Late May and June is my favorite period, when lotus flowers blossom.
  • Perfect place for morning or afternoon work. Tons if trees and beautiful flowers to admire. Foreigners are mostly busy taking pictures of every section of the garden. You may roam around or just sit in the bench near the museum to watch birds. :) Entrace fee is free.
  • Nice and quiet place to explore for the morning. Not too crowded and it's really nice. I see a lot of photographer with their tripods standing by to take photos. Also there are a lot of old folks who come here to exercise.
