Absolute highlight of our trip. We were cautioned there may be some copycat cooking classes in Chiangrai. Suwannee is by far the master. Very personable, patient and knowledgeable. The market trip was fantastic and the food we prepared under her guidance was absolutely delicious. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. She is worth every penny.
Our day with Suwannee was the highlight of my wife's and I Honeymoon trip where we traveled all over Thailand, top to bottom..(We are fro USA). Suwannee is so nice and gracious and makes you feel like friends from the moment you meet up with her, and sit at the coffee shop for local coffee and decide on menu items to cook later on, she is filling you with local history and culture. From there, we went all through out the local market, picking out every single fresh ingredient for every dish we would cook later, while being filled with explanations of local culture and sampling lots of local foods while shopping for our ingredients. From the market, she drove us (in a nice SUV) to her house, (not far) where she has a dedicated kitchen. She is constantly filling you with and explaining and teaching Thai culture. And the Thai food we cooked was absolutely delicious! I say this is a must do for anyone visiting Chiang Rai!!!
