Secret Buddha Garden, Ko Samui

Set atop one of the island's highest peaks, Secret Buddha Garden reveals a private sculpture collection in the middle of the jungle. Started in 1976 by a 77-year-old retired fruit farmer, the garden displays statues of animals, deities, and humans. Look carefully to find figures of Buddha, musicians, and the artist and his father holding hands. When you see a group of angel sculptures, you'll know the founder's tomb is nearby. Wear comfortable shoes when you go, as the attraction requires climbing many steep paths and steps. Plan your visit to Secret Buddha Garden and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Na Mueang holiday site.

  • It is a nice place but in my opinion it is not worth it driving there and paying 80 bath. Driving there with a Motorbike might also be challenging if you are not that experienced as the roads are curvy and steep. We drove there, took some pictures but haven't spent more than 30 minutes in the garden. So I think I would not go there again.
  • Truly magical experience however there should be more signs in different languages explaining the history of the place and its significance. You are dependent on whatever your tour guide explains it to you. Our tour guide could barely speak English and he said a couple of lines about the gardens but I'm sure there must be a lot about every sculpture there. Nonetheless it is a beautiful place and was worth the drive.
