Utakalongalu Market, Neiafu

Flea Market · Hidden Gem · Shopping
Browse colorful kiosks of local produce and crafts at Utakalongalu Market, where selections of handmade shell jewelry, wood and bone carvings, and baskets stand alongside stalls selling fresh local fruit and vegetables. Bananas, pineapples, tomatoes, and cucumbers are among the local specialties. The market is at its busiest in the mornings, when visitors have the best selection of watermelons and sweet potatoes, among other popular items. Friendly farmers are happy to chat, and traditional costume is not an uncommon sight. Note that while prices are rarely posted here, bargaining isn't always appreciated. • Small market with a limited selection of fruit and veg. Also some handicrafts, pearls etc. Not bad for Tonga but smaller than in Tongatapu.  more »
