The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): take in the spiritual surroundings of Toji, steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and then wander the streets of Gion. On the next day, contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, then look for all kinds of wild species at Nara Park, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Wakakusa.

Singapore, Singapore to Kyoto is an approximately 11-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or do a combination of flight, bus, and train. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Kyoto due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Singapore in April, things will get colder in Kyoto: highs are around 22°C and lows about 11°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) so you can go by car to Yoshino-cho.

Traveling by car from Yoshino-cho to Fujiyoshida takes 6 hours. When traveling from Yoshino-cho in April, plan for a bit cooler days in Fujiyoshida, with highs around 15°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 13°C. You'll have a few hours on the 10th (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Tokyo.
