Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Visiting Kondoi Beach and Yonehara Beach will get you outdoors. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Prime Scuba Ishigaki Diving Center - Day Tour and Kabira Park. There's much more to do: enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, kick back and relax at Kaiji Beach, take in the waterfront at Nishi Pier, and take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory.

For photos and tourist information, go to the Ishigaki travel route planner.

Singapore, Singapore to Ishigaki is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Ishigaki. Traveling from Singapore in October, you will find days in Ishigaki are slightly colder (34°C), and nights are about the same (28°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Iriomote-jima.

Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
On the 30th (Fri), explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, browse the eclectic array of goods at Nishiki Market Shopping District, and then contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. Here are some ideas for day two: shop like a local with Minami (Namba), take a stroll through Dotombori District, and then stop by Naniwa Meibutsu Ichibirian Dotombori.
