Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
O’sulloc Tea Museum and Bulsari Tapsa Temple are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Jeju National Museum and Trick Art Museum Korea will appeal to museum buffs. Explore Jeju's surroundings by going to Seogwipo (Halla Mountain & Seongsan Ilchulbong). Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Hamdeok Beach, witness the site of a historic battle at Seongeup Folk Village, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gwaneumsa Temple, and head off the coast to Udo.

Plan my Jeju trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

Island of the Gods
A popular vacation island for Koreans and foreigners with a mild coastal climate, Jeju-do offers hiking, caving, horseback riding, and plenty of beaches on which to relax and observe the sunset. A holiday in Jeju-do usually involves a visit to a UNESCO-protected lava tube, where you can see the world’s largest known lava column. Other lava and limestone caves set in botanical gardens, as well as a number of folk villages, combine to offer a diverse range of attractions during treks through the densely forested island, with the well-marked hiking trails also leading past giant basalt statues. Inland theme parks--ranging from a teddy bear museum to an erotic sculpture park--and golf courses provide a diverse range of entertainment options. The matriarchal island is known for its fisherwomen and female divers.
