Seoul

— 10 nights
One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Step out of the city life by going to Cheonggyecheon Stream and Ilsan Lake Park. Popular historic sites such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace are in your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seoul: Korean Folk Village (in Yongin), Paju (The Third Tunnel & DMZ Haemaru Village) and One Mount Water Park (in Goyang). Spend the 3rd (Wed) exploring nature at Bukhansan National Park. There's still lots to do: shop like a local with Myeongdong Shopping Street, brush up on your military savvy at The War Memorial of Korea, take in the spiritual surroundings of Jongmyo Shrine, and admire the landmark architecture of Deoksugung.

To see other places to visit, where to stay, ratings, and other tourist information, use the Seoul driving holiday planning website.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Gimpo International Airport, Incheon International Airport and Osan Air Base. September in Seoul sees daily highs of 72°F and lows of 71°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
