Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Tokyo National Museum and The Hakone Open-Air Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Edo-Tokyo Museum and Ginza. Step out of Tokyo with an excursion to Ghibli Museum Mitaka in Mitaka--about 38 minutes away. There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Senso-ji Temple, don't miss a visit to Takeshita Street, stop by Asakusa, and have some family-friendly fun at Owl cafe Akiba Fukurou.

Singapore, Singapore to Tokyo is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry. The time zone difference moving from Singapore Standard Time (SGT) to Japan Standard Time (JST) is 1 hour. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Singapore in October; daily highs in Tokyo reach 26°C and lows reach 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Wed) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Arashiyama has been added to your itinerary. Start off your visit on the 31st (Thu): go for a walk through Arashiyama, explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, thentake an in-depth tour of Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design, and finally take a stroll through Gion. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Heian Shrine, contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and then steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Other options are to fly; or drive. In October, plan for daily highs up to 27°C, and evening lows to 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Fri) early enough to take a train to Osaka.

Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Osaka: Nara (Todai-ji Temple, Kasuga Grand Shrine, &more) and Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum (in Kobe). Traveling by train from Kyoto to Osaka takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In November, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
