A gateway to the island, Hakodate has gained a reputation for its waterfront attractions, its proximity to some of the island's most popular natural sites, and its seafood.
Popular historic sites such as Trappist Monasteries and Onuma Park Walking Path are in your itinerary. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Motomachi and Hakodate Orthodox Church. Kushiro first developed as an industrial hub thanks to its relatively ice-free harbor, and has since also become known as a transport hub for journeys to the east of the island.
Kick off your visit on the 26th (Thu): get to know the resident critters at Kushiro City Tanchozuru Nature Park and then get to know the fascinating history of Kushiro Shitsugen Observatory Boardwalk.

On the 27th (Fri), look for gifts at Furano Cheese Craft Center, then stop by Furano Marche, and then stop by Campana Rokkatei. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: learn about winemaking at Furano Budogaoka Park, admire the natural beauty at Farm Tomita, then get a taste of the local shopping with Takushinkan, and finally take a memorable drive along Patchwork no Michi.
