The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Busan is known for beaches, historic sites, shopping, parks, and spas. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: stroll through Haeundae Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Beomeosa Temple, kick back and relax at Gwangalli Beach, and hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Busan is an approximately 17-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 8 hours traveling from Amsterdam to Busan. Traveling from Amsterdam in April, things will get somewhat warmer in Busan: highs are around 22°C and lows about 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Wed) so you can drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Seokguram, contemplate the long history of Bulguksa Temple, and then examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Cheonmachong Tomb, don't miss a visit to Daereungwon, contemplate the long history of Cheomseongdae Observatory, then steep yourself in history at Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond.

Traveling by car from Busan to Gyeongju takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of subway and bus; or take a train. Traveling from Busan in May, expect nights in Gyeongju to be about the same, around 18°C, while days are a bit cooler, around 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Gwangju.

Traveling from Gyeongju in May, expect Gwangju to be a bit cooler, temps between 11°C and 11°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) so you can catcht the bus to Daegu.
