Laayoune is the largest city of the disputed territory of Western Sahara currently administered by Morocco. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral and Laayoune Grand mosque. There's more to do: get a taste of the local shopping with Centre Artisanal.

You can do a combination of taxi and flight from Laayoune to Ad Dakhla in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In June, daytime highs in Ad Dakhla are 28°C, while nighttime lows are 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
