The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Fri): kick back and relax at Gwangalli Beach, then kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Haedong Yonggung Temple, and finally take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge. You can fly from Jeju to Busan in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. In January in Busan, expect temperatures between 7°C during the day and -3°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Sat) so you can go by car to Gyeongju.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
On the 27th (Mon), tour the pleasant surroundings at Jeongdongjin Beach, stroll through Gyeongpo Beach, and then examine the collection at Ojukheon.
