A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
Visiting Oyunuma and Oyunumagawa Natural Footbath will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to The Hokkaido University Museum and Fushimi Inari Shrine. Explore Sapporo's surroundings by going to Chitose (Doraemon Wakuwaku Sky Park & Royce' Chocolate World), Furano (Hokkaido Central Mark, Furano Ski Resort, &more) and Katta Shrine (in Noboribetsu). There's still lots to do: walk around Maruyama Park, head outdoors with Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, and take an in-depth tour of Historical Village of Hokkaido (Kaitaku-no Mura).
