You'll lose 3 hours traveling from New Delhi to Tokyo due to the time zone difference. Traveling from New Delhi in August, you will find days in Tokyo are little chillier (36°C), and nights are about the same (28°C). Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sun) so you can travel to Kyoto.

On the 19th (Mon), don't miss a visit to Eikando Zenrinji Temple, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, and then steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple. On the next day, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tenryuji Temple, then step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, and finally don't miss a visit to Gion.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Kyoto takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In August, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 39°C, while at night they dip to 29°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Tue) early enough to catch the train to Hiroshima.
