Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Tue): see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then take in the dramatic natural features at Cape Manzamo, and then contemplate the long history of Nakijin Castle Ruins. Do a combination of flight and train from Miyakojima to Hiroshima in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or do a combination of flight and ferry. Traveling from Miyakojima in December, expect nights in Hiroshima to be colder, around 4°C, while days are little chillier, around 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sun) to allow time to take a train to Kyoto.
