The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Step out of Jeju to go to Seogwipo and see Seongsan Ilchulbong, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. There's lots more to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, admire the natural beauty at Kim Kyung-Sook Sunflower Farm, walk around Sarabong Park, and go for a walk through Handam Coastal Trail.

Detroit, USA to Jeju is an approximately 22-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight, taxi, and ferry. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Korea Standard Time, which is usually a 14 hour difference. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Sat) early enough to travel to Busan.

Busan is known for beaches, historic sites, shopping, parks, and spas. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, take in the spiritual surroundings of Haedong Yonggung Temple, don't miss a visit to Seokbulsa Temple, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Gwangalli Beach.

Traveling by flight from Jeju to Busan takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. In May, plan for daily highs up to 75°F, and evening lows to 57°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Wed): explore the activities along Anapji Pond, steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, and then pause for some photo ops at Seokguram.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Busan in May, expect nights in Gyeongju to be about the same, around 60°F, while days are slightly colder, around 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Wed) early enough to drive to Sokcho.
