The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Beomeosa Temple and Gwangbokro Culture and Fashion street. Escape the urban bustle at Haeundae Beach and Songjeong Beach. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Gwangalli Beach, shop like a local with Shinsegae Dept. Store Centum City, browse the eclectic array of goods at Jagalchi Market, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggung Temple.

Glasgow, UK to Busan is an approximately 20.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. Take a break from the city and head to Hyeopjae Beach and Hamdeok Beach. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sangumburi Crater and Jeongbang Waterfall. When in Seogwipo, make a side trip to see Hallim Park in Jeju, approximately 1h 15 min away. Next up on the itinerary: admire the sheer force of Cheonjiyeon Falls, explore the striking landscape at Hwangwooji Coast, and go for a walk through Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Thu): steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, then see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, and then explore the activities along Anapji Pond. On your second day here, contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb, then contemplate the long history of Cheomseongdae Observatory, then contemplate the long history of Yangdong Folk Village, and finally hunt for treasures at Jukdo Market.

You can do a combination of bus, flight, taxi, and train from Seogwipo to Gyeongju in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of bus, flight, and train. In August, daytime highs in Gyeongju are 26°C, while nighttime lows are 26°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Fri) so you can go by car to Andong.

On the 24th (Sat), take a stroll through Andong Gunja Village (Historic Site of Ocheon), then steep yourself in history at Dosanseowon Confucian School, then steep yourself in history at Andong Hahoe Folk Village, and finally contemplate the long history of Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy.
