Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
Do some cultural sightseeing at National Palace Museum and Qingan Temple. Take a break from the city and head to YOLO Taiwan and YehLiu Geopark. Change things up with a short trip to Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) in Ruifang (about 46 minutes away). The adventure continues: stop by Ximending, shake up your sightseeing with Like It Formosa, admire the landmark architecture of Taipei 101, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Lungshan Temple.

Kick off your visit on the 28th (Mon): get outside with Sun Moon Lake Bikeway, then explore the activities along Sun Moon Lake, and then explore the wealth of natural beauty at Wenwumiaohoushan Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 29th (Tue): take in the awesome beauty at Yushan National Park.

Kaohsiung

Harbor City

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.
Visiting Liuqiu Dive and Ai He (Love River) will get you outdoors. Chimei Museum and Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Go for a jaunt from Kaohsiung to Liuqiu to see Beauty Cave about 1h 5 min away. Hengchun

Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
Do some cultural sightseeing at National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium and Taipower. Escape the urban bustle at Kenting National Park and White Sand Bay. There's still lots to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, enjoy the sand and surf at Shadao Ecological Reserve, and identify plant and animal life at Kenting Long Keng Ecological Reserve.

Hualien

Huashi

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Hualien boasts a number of attractions, both natural and manmade.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Tue): hike along Yanzihkou Trail (Swallow Grotto), head outdoors with Taroko Gorge, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Xiangde Temple. On the next day, head outdoors with Chishingtan Scenic Area and then surround yourself with nature on Island Life Taiwan Adventures & Experiences.
