Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Wed): take in the exciting artwork at Design Centre Tasmania and then get interesting insight from Hollybank Wilderness Adventures. On the 4th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: stroll around City Park, then snap pictures at Alexandra Suspension Bridge, then look for all kinds of wild species at Cataract Gorge Reserve, and finally appreciate the views at The Tamar Valley.

Canberra to Launceston is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus, train, and ferry. While traveling from Canberra, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Launceston, ranging from highs of 28°C to lows of 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Strahan.
